Michael Salvo officially assumed the role of Republican County Chair on June 15, 2026, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Hays County GOP. He takes office with a clear mandate to move past previous divisions and unite Republicans across the county, from Buda to Wimberley and Kyle to Dripping Springs. His mission is to build a welcoming, disciplined, and effective party that empowers grassroots activists and wins elections up and down the ballot.
A Proven Track Record of Service
Michael’s political journey began in 2012 when he co-founded the College Republicans at the University of Houston. Since then, his dedication to the Republican cause has been defined by over a decade of hands-on service:
- National & State Leadership: He served as a 2024 National Delegate and was the Executive Director of the Texas Young Republican Federation from 2023 to 2024.
- Local Governance: Michael has deep roots in local party operations, having previously served as the Secretary and a Precinct Chair for the Hays County GOP, as well as the Secretary and a Precinct Chair for the Williamson County Republican Party.
- Recognized Excellence: His leadership and commitment were honored when he was named the 2023 "Man of the Year" by the Texas Young Republicans.
Overarching Vision for Victory
Michael brings a unique blend of community engagement and analytical prowess to his chairmanship. With a professional background in strategic planning and data analysis, he is focused on modernizing party operations and rebuilding local infrastructure. Under his leadership, the Hays County GOP will become a model county party in the Republican Party of Texas.
Rooted in Central Texas
Michael, his wife, Mandi, and their son, Gabriel, reside in Kyle. His commitment to this community is fueled by a personal desire to preserve the freedom and values that make Central Texas home. Michael refuses to accept the idea that Hays County is destined to be forever blue; instead, he is dedicated to restoring confidence and shaping a stronger future for all residents.
